The Group of Eight Developing Islamic Countries (D-8) has a more promising future now as it is more institutionalised and structured compared to what it was 11 years ago."The grouping has a permanent secretariat in Istanbul, Turkey, headed by an elected secretary general who will assume the post for four years," Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan told reporters on the sidelines of the D-8 summit here today.
